An Encouraging Outreach in Winchester

In the past, I’ve mentioned that Winchester is one of the hardest outreach locations I visit. Today, it was vastly different! We had nine people on the team, so many people were spoken to about the Lord Jesus, and many tracts were distributed.

At one point, there were at least four conversations taking place at once, including one with a Hungarian Roman Catholic who wasn’t too keen on us. There was also an excellent gospel conversation taking place between Jeremy and a lady who has lived in Winchester for many years. This lady saw our literature table and said she felt compelled to stop and talk. She listened to the gospel, received a Bible, and then let Jeremy pray for her.

I started off the preaching by speaking on “Steps to Peace with God.” A couple of people stood at a distance listening, but they weren’t willing to talk afterwards. Next up to preach was Colin, who spoke on “What Did Easter Mean to You?” He had good interaction with a Christian who had been saved from drugs. It was a very good testimony and witness to those listening.

The final open-air of the day was when Jeremy preached on “The Message of the Cross.” A small crowd formed, and a young man engaged with the preaching. There was a good back-and-forth, with the gospel being clearly explained.

It was a very encouraging day in Winchester. May the Lord bring a great harvest to this city.
