Moving to the United Kingdom!

We have some big and exciting news as a family. As many would be aware, I have ministered as the Associate Pastor of Samford Baptist Church as an interim from late last year. My home church very kindly allowed me to serve as my family and I sought the Lord about our future ministry.

Over the past several months we have been praying and seeking counsel. We now believe the Lord has made clear where He will next have us serve.

God-willing, in December 2019 we will move from Australia to Cornwall in the United Kingdom, where I have accepted a call to become a Missionary / Pastor at Newquay Reformed Baptist Church.

The church in Newquay is a small work and is in need of revitalisation, which means there is a strong call for a missionary / evangelism emphasis.

In June 2019, my family and I spent time in Cornwall, where were struck by the desperate need for gospel work. The population of Newquay is around 25,000 people, but I have been told that swells to over 200,000 people in summer as tourists from all over the UK make their way to the beach. As such, this town is a strategic location in being able to impact all of Great Britain with the gospel.

In relation to religion, there is a decline of church attendance, with the evangelical church being very small. However, false religion is growing; according to some reports, Paganism is now the second largest religion in the county[1]. Newquay itself has a strong alternative lifestyle focus, with many non-Christian religions being represented; it is also the home of the annual Cornwall Pride.

This is the environment that we will be moving into, so we ask for your prayers and support.

Newquay Reformed Baptist Church has been able to raise some funds to assist us in the short-term, but we will need financial support from God’s people for this mission to succeed in the long-term. We would ask that you prayerfully consider donating to the work of the gospel in the UK.

If you would like to give, then please click the “Support Us” link at the top of this page. At present we can receive credit card donations online, if you wish to donate another way please contact us so we can arrange it.

Also, we will be launching a regular missionary newsletter detailing the work in England. If you would like to be on our mailing list, please subscribe to our e-newsletter.

Thank you for your prayers and support.

Yours in Fulfilling the Great Commission,

Josh, Louise, Thomas, Elizabeth and Henry Williamson.
