Day 3 – London Outreach

Day 3 of the London outreach saw us back in Leicester Square. The weather was quite nice, and we were able to set up in a much better location than yesterday.

Throughout the day, the team was kept busy with preaching, tract work, and one-to-one witnessing. I’m unable to share their stories, so I can only speak about a couple of things I was directly involved in.

While Andy was preaching, a man stopped to listen. As he went to move on, I offered him a tract and began a conversation. The man used a lot of foul language to explain why he did not believe in God. But as I dug a little deeper, I discovered this man was not an atheist. Rather, he was a refugee from Iran who had fled the Islamic regime many years ago. His language and denial of God were directed against the Muslim understanding of deity, but he respected and considered the Christian understanding of God.

We had a very good conversation, though it was sad. The man described how members of his family had been raped and murdered. He also spoke of his longing to return to Iran once it is free. He took a tract and listened as I shared about the God who is love.

Later in the day, when it came time for me to preach, I spoke on “The Way to Heaven”. A few people paused to listen, with two taking copies of John’s Gospel at the end.

A particular blessing today was meeting other Christians from around the world who were encouraged by the open-air witness. It is always an encouragement to us when people stop to pray for us or ask how they can become more effective in evangelism.

Overall, it was a good day of ministry. Please pray for all those who heard the good news.
